About

Mia Beaudoin-Dion is a composer from Gatineau influenced by a wide array of genres such as classical, jazz, pop, and contemporary music. Inspired by these genres, she portrays versatile moods in her work from the beautiful to the strange, through to the ecstatic to the sad, or the heroic. She is especially interested in working on plays because inspiration often comes to her from the desire to evoke or support a narrative. She holds a bachelor's degree in music composition and studied with Denis Gougeon and Ana Sokolovic. She has produced music for many plays with the company Mauve Sapin company, such as “Les Pattes en Aiguilles”, “Fumée lourde de silence pour toi” and “Mamuche”. She also worked with the University of Ottawa creating music for Kariane Lachance’s masters’ thesis and is now producing music for Wild Craft Play and Le Fâcheux Théâtre.
